The Silverado Skyhawks were the  48-43 winner over the Sierra Vista Mountain Lions when they last played one another  back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Silverado took a hard  46-31 fall against Sierra Vista on Wednesday.
 Silverado's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Kaitlyn Jack-Keller, who  scored 12 points along with seven  rebounds. Jack-Keller scored a full 38.7% of Silverado's points, the sixth time in a row she's  earned more than a third of the team's points.  Timia Thomas was another key contributor,  scoring six points along with four  steals.
 Leading Sierra Vista to victory were  Bella Concerios  and  Donnayja  Gibson.  Concerios   scored 18 points, while  Gibson  scored 18 points. The  match was  Gibson's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was  Taylor Lane, who  scored eight points.
 Silverado has  traveled a rocky road recently, as they've  lost eight of their last nine contests,  which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Sierra Vista, they now  have a winning record of 4-3.
 Silverado will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Basic at 5:00  p.m.  on January 2, 2024. Basic is coming into the  matchup on a three-game losing streak. Sierra Vista and Shalhevet will face off  at 5:30  p.m.  on December 21st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Shalhevet will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 212th in California, while Sierra Vista is ranked 46th in Nevada).
