After three games on the road, Northern is heading back home. They will take on the McDonough Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Northern focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday.
Northern managed to keep up with Leonardtown until halftime, but things quickly went downhill from there. Northern ended up on the wrong side of a tough 52-32 walloping at the hands of Leonardtown. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Northern in their matchups with Leonardtown: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the defeat, Northern got a solid performance out of Haley Longfellow, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Makayla Marvray, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, McDonough beat Friendly 48-35 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for McDonough.
Northern's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for McDonough, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.
