Basketball Recap: Davidson Day Wins Going Away Against Weddington

Davidson Day posted their biggest win since November 16th on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 74-53 margin over the Weddington Warriors. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Despite the defeat, Weddington had strong showings from Kj Younger, who posted 21 points and five boards, and Jake Ford, who had 11 points. That was a full 39.6% of Weddington's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jaden Nnaji, who earned three points and six boards.

Davidson Day is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.5 points per game. As for Weddington, they moved to 8-3 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Davidson Day will take on Burlington Christian Academy in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Davidson Day knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Burlington Christian Academy likes a good challenge. Weddington and Charlotte Country Day School will round out the year against one another at at 5:00 p.m. on December 30th.
