The East Duplin Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They strolled past South Lenoir with points to spare, taking the game 76-60. The victory was some much needed relief for East Duplin as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Leading East Duplin to victory were Zachary Ball and Calvin Harper. Ball scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and six assists, while Harper went 7 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 0 assists. That's the first time this season that Ball pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Luke Hughes, who scored eight points.
East Duplin's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-11. As for South Lenoir, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Duplin will stay at home for another game and welcome Wallace-Rose Hill at 8:00 p.m. on January 19th. Wallace-Rose Hill presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than East Duplin in North Carolina (Wallace-Rose Hill is ranked 306th, while East Duplin is ranked 632nd).
