The Oakwood Comets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They really took it to Westville for the full four quarters, racking up a 58-31 victory on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Oakwood has posted against Westville since February 10, 2020.
Jaydah Arrowsmith was her usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Hanner, who scored five points along with three steals.
Westville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lani Gondzur, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and four steals. Hadley Jones was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds.
Oakwood's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-17. As for Westville, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-20.
Oakwood will be playing in front of their home fans against Iroquois West at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Westville, they will head out on the road to face off against Chrisman at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
