Everything went their way against Durham School of the Arts last Thursday as they made off with an 11-1 victory. The Spartans not only won last Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 30, 2024.
Ryan Dawes was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Dawes was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI.
In other batting news, Southern School of Energy and Sustainability got a massive performance out of Carlos Joseph, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits Joseph has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zione Oliver, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2.
