The Bethel Assembly Christian Academy Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. 2024 welcomed they with a 60-34 loss courtesy of Trinity Christian. Bethel Assembly Christian Academy has not had much luck with Trinity Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Savannah Ball, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Taylor, who scored eight points.
Even though they lost, Bethel Assembly Christian Academy were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Trinity Christian only pulled down 23 offensive rebounds.
Trinity Christian was led to victory by Riley Burnham and Macey Skinner. Burnham scored 13 points along with nine rebounds, while Skinner dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Skinner scored 15 or more points. Emily Jordan was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Bethel Assembly Christian Academy bumped their record down to 5-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Trinity Christian, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
Bethel Assembly Christian Academy is on the road again on Friday and play against New Life Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th. As for Trinity Christian, they will be playing at home against Hilltop Christian at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Meleah Bell and Burnham.
