Even though Sun Valley scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, Marvin Ridge still came out on top. Marvin Ridge enjoyed a cozy 74-55 win over Sun Valley. Given Marvin Ridge's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Sun Valley is ranked 341st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Cinjun Bridges, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Dunn, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Weddington came tearing into Monday's matchup with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Monroe with points to spare, taking the game 57-39.
Marvin Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Weddington, they pushed their record up to 22-1 with that victory, which was their 11th straight on the road.
Marvin Ridge lost to Weddington on the road by a decisive 73-58 margin in their previous meeting back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Weddington's Grant Hamilton, who scored 30 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
