Concordia Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight  defeat. They were a single  set away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Croix Lutheran Crusaders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Beacons of the  3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in November of 2024.
 Concordia Academy actually scored more points across those five sets (108-103), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-22, 25-23, 16-25,  15-13.

  Addie Pickett and  Piper Sutherland certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss.  Pickett  had 25  digs and seven  assists, while  Sutherland  had 13  digs and two  aces. Pickett has been hot recently, having  posted 12 or more  digs the last three times she's  played.
Concordia Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for St. Croix Lutheran, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record  this season.
 Concordia Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  match,  a  2-1  loss against Dover-Eyota on the 11th. St. Croix Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
