The Clarkstown South Vikings's game on Saturday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 45-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Box Elder.
Box Elder got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaydence Barber out in front who scored eight points along with seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Jaylee Chappell, who scored nine points.
Clarkstown South now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Box Elder, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.
Clarkstown South will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Rockland at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Box Elder will be home for the holidays to greet Bear River at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Bear River focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Thursday.
