The Concord Yellowjackets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Maple Valley 92-9 at home. Concord has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Leading Concord to victory were Bradie Lehman and Cieara Barrett. Lehman scored 24 points along with six steals and five assists, while Barrett almost dropped a triple-double on 21 points, nine assists, and nine steals. Barrett is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Grace Thorrez, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
The victory was the fifth in a row for Concord, bringing their record for this year to 10-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Maple Valley, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
Concord will head out on the road to square off against the Orioles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Quincy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 521st, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 242nd). As for Maple Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Legends at 6:00 p.m. Lee is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
