Tripp Rosenberger looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Alex Dameron was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Luke Walters was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Edgewater had no problem doing just that on Monday. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Yellow Jackets.
Ethan Quill looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jayden Benfer, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicholas Collins, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.
Winter Springs' win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Edgewater, their win bumped their record up to 15-11.
Winter Springs was able to grind out a solid victory over Edgewater in their previous matchup back in February, winning 6-2. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
