Meadowcreek is 0-8 against the Lions since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Meadowcreek Mustangs will head out on the road to square off against the Peachtree Ridge Lions at 7:00 p.m. Meadowcreek is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Meadowcreek posted their closest victory since November 10, 2023 on Friday. They had just enough and edged Discovery out 48-45.
Meadowcreek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Daron Sturdivant led the charge by scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Damari Wright, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Peachtree Ridge unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Norcross by a score of 63-60. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Peachtree Ridge has suffered against the Blue Devils since January 26, 2016.
Meadowcreek's victory ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-15. As for Peachtree Ridge, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-7.
Things could have been worse for Meadowcreek, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 57-43 loss to the Lions in their previous matchup back in January. Can Meadowcreek avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
