It was a good run, but the Spackenkill Spartans unfortunately witnessed the end of their 11-game winning streak on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 62-61 to Ellenville. Spackenkill was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Jason Kinscy was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 12 rebounds for Ellenville. It was the first time this season that Kinscy pulled down eight or more rebounds. Duvaun Douglas was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Spackenkill's loss ended a eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-1. As for Ellenville, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Spackenkill will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Devils at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in New York (Ellenville is ranked 89th, while the Spartans are ranked 106th). As for Ellenville, they will head out on the road to face off against the Spartans at 5:45 p.m. Spackenkill has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 697 points over their last ten matchups.
