Megan Gardiner made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one RBI. What's more, she posted two hits, the most she's had since back in April.
In other batting news, Prout let Mia Boyajian and Sara Slitt run wild. Boyajian went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Slitt went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Boyajian has posted since back in May of 2025. Callie Smith was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Prout was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Providence only posted a batting average of .250.
Meanwhile, La Salle Academy is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Dighton-Rehoboth Regional. The Rams came out on top in a nail-biter against the Falcons, sneaking past 2-1. The victory was nothing new for the Rams as they're now sitting on six straight.
Hailey Vigneau spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits.
At the plate, Samantha Sell was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
La Salle Academy's record is now 20-2. As for Prout, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
Prout might still be hurting after the 13-3 loss they got from La Salle Academy in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Crusaders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
