Bowdon extended their home winning streak to six games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Joshua Hopkins. The Red Devils simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Bremen Blue Devils 48-7 thanks in part to Hopkins, who threw for 216 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 passes, and also rushed for 120 yards and one score on only eight carries. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 76 yards.
Another player making a difference was Connor Daniel, who rushed for 74 yards and one TD. He didn't just play on offense: he also made five total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defended one pass.
Bowdon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Marcus Harper, Joshua Chandler, and Kaiden Prothro picked up one apiece. Prothro got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Bowdon now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Bremen, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
