Dunellen is 10-0 against South Amboy since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Dunellen Destroyers will look to defend their home court against the South Amboy Governors at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Dunellen posted their biggest victory yet this season on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Piscataway Vo-Tech as Dunellen made off with a 50-30 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Dunellen has posted against Piscataway Vo-Tech since February 11, 2015.
Dunellen got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Wendy Woll out in front who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Woll is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Jimenez, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, South Amboy was fully in charge on Wednesday, breezing past East Brunswick 40-11 on the road.
Dunellen pushed their record up to 10-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for South Amboy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.
Dunellen strolled past South Amboy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 36-22. Will Dunellen repeat their success, or does South Amboy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
