Riverbank hasn't had much luck against Calaveras recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bruins will head out to take on the Red Hawks at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Riverbank turned things around against Big Valley Christian on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Lions 2-1.

Maya Guzman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Briseida Felix was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.
Calaveras came out on top against Summerville on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. The Red Hawks' pitcher stepped up to hand the Bears a 12-0 shutout. Considering the Red Hawks have won five matchups by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Kamryn Thornburg made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Thornburg was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, three RBI, and one stolen base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. What's more, she posted two runs, the most she's had since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kendra Baechler, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Taylor Verduzco was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Calaveras was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in seven consecutive contests.
Riverbank picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 4-7. As for Calaveras, their record is now 8-0.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Riverbank has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Calaveras struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Riverbank might still be hurting after the 15-2 defeat they got from Calaveras in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Bruins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
