Red Mountain has not had much luck with Mesa recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Red Mountain's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Macy Johnson, who scored nine points along with six steals and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Payton Westra, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Red Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Mesa, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
Red Mountain will be playing in front of their home fans against Skyline at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mesa, they will head out on the road to face off against Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mountain View is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
