After flying high against the Lighthouse College Prep Academy Lions on Tuesday, the Bowman Academy Eagles came back down to earth. Bowman Academy took a 61-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hammond Morton. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Bowman Academy still got an impressive performance from Nickolas Black, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 16 rebounds. The match was Black's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lamontae Cross, who scored 11 points along with 5 assists and 5 steals.
Bowman Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Hammond Morton, their win bumped their record up to 1-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bowman Academy will take on Lake Station Edison at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hammond Morton will be home for the holidays to greet Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
