The Two Rivers Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Visitation Blazers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Two Rivers has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 83-73 to Fridley on Tuesday. Two Rivers has not had much luck with Fridley recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Sophia Amundson put forth a good effort for the losing side as she dropped a double-double on 31 points and 12 rebounds. Those 31 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Elayna Vannett, who scored 21 points.
Even though they lost, Two Rivers were working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Visitation, who are still winless after their sixth contest. They took a hard 65-50 fall against Academy of Holy Angels on Friday.
Two Rivers' loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-2. As for Visitation, they bumped their record down to 0-6 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Two Rivers might still be hurting after the 56-31 defeat they got from Visitation when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Two Rivers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
