Floyd Central faced Silver Creek in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Highlanders claimed a resounding 40-0 victory over the Dragons. Fans of the Highlanders have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Floyd Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lyla Conway led the charge by rushing for 64 yards and one score, while also picking up 38 receiving yards and one TD. The Highlanders also got help from Brinley Clark, who showed off her sure hands for 92 receiving yards.

Floyd Central didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Maddie Selking, Lucy Jenks, and Lyla Jenks picked up one apiece. Lyla is crushing it when it comes to interceptions: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. She got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Floyd Central's record now sits at 4-0. As for Silver Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Floyd Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 35-19 win against Clarksville on the 6th. As for Silver Creek, they have also already played their next contest, a 44-13 loss against Beech Grove on the 13th.
