The Wenonah Dragons will take on the Jacksonville Golden Eagles at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Wenonah is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Moody, sneaking past 62-60. The win was familiar territory for the Dragons who have now won five games in a row.

Samarian Franklin was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double with 35 points and nine boards. Her evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zariah Evans, who posted six points and nine rebounds.
Wenonah smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 20 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Jacksonville won against Lincoln on Wednesday with 62 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Jacksonville blew past Corner, posting a 62-17 victory. The Golden Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 20 matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Jacksonville's win came from a few key players Wenonah will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Neveah Nicholson, who went 9 of 14 on her way to 23 points and four steals. What's more, she also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was DeAsia Prothro, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 boards.
Jacksonville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.7 points over those games. As for Wenonah, their record now sits at 29-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Wenonah has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Jacksonville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.9 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Wenonah against Jacksonville in their previous meeting back in December of 2017, as the team secured a 58-24 win. Will Wenonah repeat their success, or does Jacksonville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
