The Covington-Douglas Wildcats can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They claimed a resounding 67-29 win over Cimarron on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Covington-Douglas has managed all season.
Covington-Douglas' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Derrek Daugherty, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Daugherty hasn't dropped below two blocks for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Miguel Tarango, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Covington-Douglas and bumps their season record up to 7-7. As for Cimarron, they bumped their record down to 3-11 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Covington-Douglas will take on Okeene at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cimarron, they will head out on the road to square off against Drummond at 11:45 a.m. on Thursday. Drummond presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cimarron in Oklahoma (Drummond is ranked 67th, while Cimarron is ranked 468th).
