It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Calvary Day Cavaliers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 48-0 win over Jackson. Fans of Calvary Day have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Calvary Day got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jake Merklinger out in front who threw for 260 yards and three touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Trevor Strowbridge also deserves a shout-out for his four touchdowns.
The victory for Calvary Day keeps them at an undefeated 11-0. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 42.73 points. As for Jackson, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.
Calvary Day will face off against Thomasville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jackson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
