Basketball Recap: Cook Takes a Loss

Cook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 98-25 defeat at the hands of the Worth County Rams. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 516th, while the Rams are ranked 234th).

Connor Vanderriet and Tucker Rountree certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Vanderriet posted four points and six rebounds, while Rountree put up three points in addition to six boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave Rountree a new career-high in steals.

ASHTON WILLIAMS continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Worth County, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine assists. WILLIAMS has been hot recently, having posted eight or more assists the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of JAMES RAYMOND, who had eight points.

Cook's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Worth County, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.

Cook wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 62-39 defeat against Fitzgerald on the 27th. As for Worth County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-54 loss against Ocoee on the 26th.
