Basketball Recap: Elevation Prep Academy Falls Despite Big Games from SHAMILL JOHNSON and HARVEY BEDELL

Elevation Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 95-76 to the Oak Ridge Military Academy Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Honey Badgers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 356th, while the Eagles are ranked 150th).

Despite the defeat, Elevation Prep Academy had strong showings from HARVEY BEDELL, who went 9 of 15 on his way to 28 points, and SHAMILL JOHNSON, who went 6 for 12 en route to 17 points in addition to five assists and four steals. The dominant performance gave BEDELL a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of STEPHEN SHAKO, who posted 11 points and six rebounds.

Elevation Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Oak Ridge Military Academy, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7.

Elevation Prep Academy will challenge New Life Christian Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Oak Ridge Military Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Winston Salem Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oak Ridge Military Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
