The Timberlake Christian Tornadoes scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 45-27 win over Christian Heritage Academy. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Timberlake Christian as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Timberlake Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dayla Sleboda led the charge by scoring 13 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Emma Luther, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 17 rebounds.
Timberlake Christian's victory ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5. As for Christian Heritage Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Southwest Virginia Academy the next time they take the court. Christian Heritage Academy will host Southwest Virginia Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Timberlake Christian will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
