1A-2 Region IV District 14 recap September 17, 2013
Runge moved up to 763 from 809 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 1A-2 Region IV District 14. The Yellowjackets were able to make move up by besting Nueces Canyon 41-13.
Pettus fell to Sabinal 55-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Falls City's dynamic duo of Dean Gaskamp and David Brodsky proved tough for Stockdale to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Gaskamp threw for 115 yards and 2 touchdowns and Brodsky had 70 yards receiving. Stephen Harlos helped Falls City's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 24 yards.
The Beavers' dynamic duo of Gaskamp and Brodsky proved to be unstoppable against the Brahmas, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Corey Barnes was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 11 carries, he ran for 173 yards as Runge topped Stockdale. Teammate Aaron Charles added to the ground attack by rushing for 115 yards.
Brodsky was the best receiver in the league this week as Steve Marbach's team bested Josh West's team.
Gaskamp put up the best numbers in passing as the Beavers beat the Brahmas.
Falls City's Gaskamp and Austen Camber have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 1A-2 Region IV District 14 in both passing and receiving yards. Gaskamp has thrown for 390 yards this season, while Camber has 6 catches for 144 yards. Matt Wright's team's Barnes leads the league in rushing yards with 497.
The Yellowjackets made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,166 from 8,716. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 41-13 victory over the Panthers last week.
