There's no place like home for Houston Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the New Brockton Gamecocks on Monday. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Whit Price, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Houston Academy's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 7-11 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Cooper West, who scored two runs.

Houston Academy moved to 9-12 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for New Brockton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Houston Academy will head out to face off against Pike Liberal Arts at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New Brockton, they will venture away from home to challenge Bullock County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. New Brockton is facing Bullock County at the right time seeing as Bullock County is stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
