Red Bluff is 1-9 against Foothill since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Red Bluff Spartans will be playing at home against the Foothill Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Red Bluff will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 784th, while Foothill is ranked 309th).
Red Bluff lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. Their tough 52-32 loss to Enterprise might stick with them for a while. Red Bluff has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Foothill didn't have too much trouble with Chico at home on Tuesday as they won 68-53. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Foothill.
Foothill had a senior duo take command as Asa Arnold scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and six assists and Tyler Zanhiser scored 23 points along with three steals. Zanhiser is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Van Warren, who scored seven points.
Red Bluff has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Foothill, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Red Bluff, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 69-51 loss to Foothill in their previous meeting back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Zanhiser, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Now that Red Bluff knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
