Grafton extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping them up to 10-5. They blew past the Slinger Owls 13-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Black Hawks have posted against the Owls since April 24, 2023.
Zach Plier was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Plier was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.
In other pitching news, Sam Benter looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Grafton got a massive performance out of Will Heinz, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Heinz a new career-high. Ryan Butts was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Grafton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
As for Slinger, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7. Owls fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Grafton since Monday.
On Slinger's side, they got a good showing from Mason Opetz, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits.
At the plate, Slinger saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Zimmerman, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run. Another was Ethan Miller, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Grafton will have a chance to go back-to-back against Slinger: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
