Milton faced Natick in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Wildcats walked away with a 21-14 victory over the Redhawks. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Despite the loss, Natick had strong showings from James Mortarelli, who rushed for 110 yards and one score on only ten carries, and Jesse Gagliardi, who rushed for 60 yards and one TD. Mortarelli's longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards.
Milton's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Natick, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-2.
Milton and Natick will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Wildcats see the field they'll take on Braintree at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th. As for Natick, their break will end when they face Framingham at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th.
