The Springville Red Devils will take on the Skyridge Falcons at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Springville knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Skyridge likes a good challenge.
Springville is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Salem Hills, who was ranked third at the time (Springville was ranked 19th). The Red Devils had just enough and edged out the Skyhawks 12-11 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Red Devils have posted since May 2, 2024.

Allyx Haveron made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 7.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Haveron was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, Springville got a massive performance out of Jaz Ciliezar, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Tyler Haveron, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Skyridge unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Lehi by a score of 7-5.
Maylee Walston made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base.
Springville's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Skyridge, their loss dropped their record down to 11-14.
Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Springville has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .480. However, it's not like Skyridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .442. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Springville skirted past Skyridge 1-0 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
