East Atchison will challenge South Holt/Nodaway-Holt on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps national rankings project a close matchup.
East Atchison simply couldn't be stopped last Friday, as they easily beat North Nodaway/West Nodaway 58-0. The East Atchison offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 22-68, which was the final score in South Holt/Nodaway-Holt's tilt against Southwest/Hale/Tina-Avalon. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.
East Atchison's win lifted them to 1-1 while South Holt/Nodaway-Holt's defeat dropped them down to 0-2. In their win, East Atchison relied heavily on junior Briacin Bywater, who rushed for 210 yards and 4 touchdowns; a key strategy for South Holt/Nodaway-Holt will lie in finding a way to minimize his impact.
