The Baker Gators's game on Monday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They pulled ahead with a 51-50 photo finish over Laurel Hill. This was a revenge match for Baker, as the team was forced to settle for a 50-41 defeat when these two played last Thursday.
Baker's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mckenzie Mcgraw, who scored 25 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mcgraw has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Katerina Price, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Despite the loss, Laurel Hill still got an impressive performance from Aiyana Dixon, who scored 31 points. Another player making a difference was Laramie Boykin, who scored nine points.
Baker's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Laurel Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Baker will square off against Walton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Walton is ranked 323rd, while Baker is ranked 348th). As for Laurel Hill, they will head out on the road to square off against Destin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
