If the Western Warriors were feeling good off their 65-34 takedown of the Southeast Career Tech Roadrunners on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Western took a 77-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sunrise Mountain on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Tuesday (65), Western still had to take the loss.
Western's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dakari Gill, who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Another player making a difference was AC McDowell, who scored 15 points along with 8 rebounds.
Elijah Redic had a dynamite game for Sunrise Mountain, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 10 rebounds. The contest was Redic's third in a row with at least ten points. Brice Wilson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 5 assists and 4 steals.
Western now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Sunrise Mountain, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Western will be playing at home against Las Vegas at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Las Vegas focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Thursday. As for Sunrise Mountain, they will head out on the road to face off against Canyon Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
