The Liberty Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Port Jervis, falling 70-42. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Liberty in their matchups with Port Jervis: they've now lost four in a row.
It was another big night for Isaiah Boucher, who went 10 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 50 points and 2 assists for Port Jervis. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Boucher has scored at least 25% of Port Jervis' points. Another player making a difference was Carroll Dolshun, who scored four points along with 13 rebounds.
Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Port Jervis, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Cornwall Central at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Port Jervis, they will square off against Pine Bush at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
