Baseball Recap: Royal Palm Beach Takes a Loss

Royal Palm Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of the Forest Hill Falcons. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by just one run.

Robert Gonzalez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Vladimir Metellus also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Royal Palm Beach now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Forest Hill, they pushed their record up to 6-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Royal Palm Beach will take on Calvary Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Royal Palm Beach is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season. As for Forest Hill, they will venture away from home to face off against Martin County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Forest Hill's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four matches.
