Gurdon is on a four-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Rison is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Gurdon Go-Devils will take on the Rison Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Gurdon has not done well against Fordyce recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Gurdon came out on top against Fordyce by a score of 52-42 (the very same score they lost by the week prior).
Meanwhile, Rison scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They strolled past Hermitage with points to spare, taking the game 59-41. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Rison has managed all season.
Among those leading the charge was Carlese Johnson, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. Johnson also scored 15+ points for the first time this season. Destiny Lea was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Gurdon now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Rison, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Gurdon came up short against Rison in their previous meeting back in January, falling 51-46. Can Gurdon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
