Delta Valley recap Nov. 7, 2012
Franklin extended the longest winning streak in Delta Valley this week by beating Monterey Trail, 28-6. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.
Grant's dynamic duo of Isaiah Rios and Trayvon Henderson proved tough for Laguna Creek to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Rios threw for 188 yards and three touchdowns and Henderson had 116 yards receiving. Darrion Jeffery helped Grant's passing attack out by catching three balls for 36 yards.
Deshun William II made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Cardinals fell to the Pacers. The 5-foot-10 senior recorded one fumble.
Robert Frazier was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 23 carries, he ran for 173 yards as Elk Grove defeated Laguna Creek. Spencer Sheff also contributed to the rushing game with 80 yards on the ground.
Mike Alberghini's team's Rios and Henderson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Rios has thrown for 1620 yards this season, while Henderson, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 39 catches for 673 yards. The Thundering Herd's Frazier leads the league in rushing yards with 1575.
The Pacers led Delta Valley in scoring this week after putting up 55 points on Dave Morton's team. Rios ran for one yards in the win.
