The Hayden Wildcats lost against the Washburn Rural Blues back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Hayden was outmatched by Washburn Rural at home and fell 62-29. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hayden has scored all season.
Amare Jones was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 20 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Ballard, who scored 11 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Hayden and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for Washburn Rural, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-6.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Topeka the next time they take the court. Washburn Rural will host Topeka at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Hayden will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
