The Plainfield South Cougars came tearing into Thursday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Oswego East by a score of 54-43. For Plainfield South, this counts as revenge for the 61-45 defeat Oswego East walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Leading Plainfield South to victory were Tierra Abner and Demi Page. Abner scored 14 points along with six rebounds, while Page scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Page pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jazlynn Foster, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Plainfield South pushed their record up to 8-4 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Oswego East, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5.
Coincidentally, Plainfield South and Oswego East will both be playing Waubonsie Valley the next time they take the court. Plainfield South will host Waubonsie Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Oswego East will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
