The Dunham Tigers will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the GEO Next Generation Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully Dunham is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than GEO Next Generation in Louisiana (Dunham is ranked 102nd, while GEO Next Generation is ranked 234th).
Last Monday, Dunham ended up a good deal behind Central and lost 57-40.
Meanwhile, GEO Next Generation scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They skirted past Istrouma 72-70. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
GEO Next Generation can attribute much of their success to Brianna Hawthorne, who scored 26 points, and Quinniece Darby, who scored 28 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Darby has scored at least a third of GEO Next Generation's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kimberly Jack, who scored four points along with ten blocks.
Dunham's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-7. As for GEO Next Generation, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-10 record this season.
