Baseball Recap: Silsbee's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Silsbee waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Tarkington Longhorns by a score of 12-7. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2023.

Jace Mercer looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Matsyn Morris was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Ryder Blythe, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Silsbee's record is now 11-2. As for Tarkington, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-10-1.

Silsbee didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-0 loss against Huntington on the 7th. As for Tarkington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 9-3 win against Anahuac on the 7th.
