The Kelso Hilanders will venture away from home to  square off against the Ridgefield Spudders  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Both come into the  matchup bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
On Tuesday, Kelso was able to grind out a solid  victory over Mountain View, taking the game  4-1. The  win continues a trend for the Hilanders in their matchups with the Thunder: they've now won six in a row.
 Paityn Mackin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a  run (which was  unearned)  on six hits and racked up 18 Ks.
 On the hitting side,  Karmynn Petrisor was  excellent,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with two  RBI and one  double. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in March.
 Meanwhile, while Ridgefield put up plenty of  runs on Wednesday, the same  can't be said for R.A. Long. The Spudders blew past the Lumberjacks 20-0. The result was nothing new for the Spudders, who have now won nine games by six  runs or more  so far this season.
 Ridgefield has  been performing  well recently as they've  won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Kelso, they pushed their record up to 12-6 with the  win, which was their fifth straight  at home.
 Kelso came out on top in a nail-biter against Ridgefield in their previous matchup  back in March of 2018, sneaking past  2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hilanders since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
