The York Wildcats will head out to take on the Fryeburg Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. York is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.7 runs per game this season.
York will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Poland on Friday. The Wildcats never let the Knights get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won three in a row.

John Jacobsohn was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Jacobsohn was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Jack Joyce and Robbie Hanscom did most of the damage at the plate: Joyce got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Hanscom got on base in two of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Joyce is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Conor Fell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Fryeburg came out on top against Greely on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run second inning. The Raiders skirted past the Rangers 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Raiders have posted since June 4, 2024.
Fryeburg now has a winning record of 4-3. As for York, their record now sits at 7-2.
Fryeburg's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: York hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .361. It's a different story for Fryeburg, though, as they've only averaged .253. Will they be able to contain York's hitters?
York beat Fryeburg 6-1 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
