The Commerce Tigers were the 62-46 winner over the Edgewood Bulldogs when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Commerce fell 43-35 to Edgewood on Thursday. Commerce has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Leading Edgewood to victory were Blair McPherson and Kassidy Paul. McPherson scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Paul dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. Paul has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played.
Commerce's defeat ended a eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-7. As for Edgewood, their victory was their 19th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-8.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Prairiland the next time they take the court. Commerce will host Prairiland at 6:50 p.m. on Friday, while Edgewood will host them at 6:50 p.m. on Tuesday.
