In what's become a running theme this season, the Lamar County Trojans gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 71-19 win over Lake Oconee Academy at home. The victory was familiar territory for Lamar County who now have four in a row.
It was another big night for Shakiria Foster, who scored 26 points along with four steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Lamar County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Watts, who scored 14 points along with five assists and two steals.
Lamar County's victory bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Lake Oconee Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lamar County will take on the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Temple will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 225th, while the Trojans are ranked 110th). As for Lake Oconee Academy, they and the Tigers will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
