The Legacy Christian Academy Eagles will face off against the Bishop Lynch Friars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Lynch took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Legacy Christian Academy, who comes in off a win.
While Legacy Christian Academy's win against Prestonwood Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Lions 7-6. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won three in a row.
Blair Ehmer made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Mallary Renner was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Maddy Bertsch was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run.
Meanwhile, Bishop Lynch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 13-1 to Prestonwood Christian.
Bishop Lynch saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Love, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was Love's first of the season.
Bishop Lynch's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Legacy Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 16-8-1.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Legacy Christian Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .365. However, it's not like Bishop Lynch struggles in that department as they've averaged .312. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
